Frequently Asked Questions
What file type do I need for embroidery?
If you plan on providing your own embroidery file, you will need either an EMB or DST.
JPEGs, PNGs and PDFs cannot be used until they have been digitized. We offer digitizing services for a fee, but will happily accept external files so long as they are the correct format.
Can my graphic designer provide an embroidery file?
Probably not, as digitizing is not a part of an average graphic designers skillset.
Digitizing is an industry specific role that requires access to rather pricey machinery to learn properly. Unless your graphic designer has a personal interest in embroidery, it’s rather unlikely.
What is digitizing?
Digitizing is the process of recreating an image in stitches with the use of specially designed software intended solely for embroidery. Image files cannot be read or understood by the machine the way they could be with something like a printer. An embroidery machine needs to be told exactly how and where it should sew every stitch.
We offer digitizing for a flat rate of $60.00
